MARCUS ARRIVES IN SINGAPORE; WALKS THE TRACK
It has been a quiet day at the office for foreign and local horses alike on
Thursday morning. With most of them having had their hit-outs the day before,
the SIA Cup and KrisFlyer contenders came out looking to fine tune their preparation.

The South African pair of Jay Peg and Mourilyan were out and about for trainer
Herman Brown putting in the final touches, with newly-arrived race rider Anton
Marcus jumping aboard Jay Peg.
The Dubai Duty Free winning combination linked up for a 1000m canter on the
grass track (last 600m in 42.1 seconds) that pleased the South African rider.
"He feels good and credit to Herman for having kept him in great shape
after the Dubai campaign," said Marcus who landed in Singapore on Wednesday
afternoon.
Right after he dismounted, the consummate professional in Marcus went for
a walk around the Kranji track "for a feel" of the surface.
Brown had no reason to complain about the number of times his two charges
had had their own feel of the grass track, especially with the opening of the
short course on Thursday.
