JAY PEG SET FOR SINGAPORE FLING

With the form of the Dubai Duty Free franked in no uncertain terms in Hong Kong over the weekend, Jay Peg looks set to start his Grade 1 race in Singapore as a warm favourite.

"If the Hong Kong race is anything to go by, he should be a strong contender," said trainer Herman Brown before jetting off to Dubai to overseas the final work of Jay Peg before he set off to Singapore.

Brown will spend a week or so in Dubai overseeing his two contenders, the other being Mourilyan. The Singapore Airlines Cup is as big a race as the QE II Cup held in Hong Kong on the weekend. South African have not had the best of times in the Singapore race in the past but that is set to change this year.

"We'll see how they travel to Singapore and take it from there," said Brown from his Summerveld stable.

The key to international races in the travelling and as Brown quite rightly pointed out, it will be the difference between winning and losing no matter the competition put in front of you.

However, the scene is set for another Group 1 win for Jay Peg, now it is a matter the final key weeks in his preparation for the event.
