Blank Cheque
EASY FOR BLANK CHEQUE
Blank Cheque made all the running in his emphatic win at Scottsville on
Sunday. The classy Brown runner rang up his 3rd win from 8 starts and looks to
be destined for the top.
Once regarded a future star as a young two year old, the Rich Man's Gold -
Kenmare Belle colt, is slowly rising to his early promise after taking more than
a year off to rest from a heart irregularity.
Not many horses can sustain a front running lead over 1600m at Scottsville,
but Blank Cheque defied the odds and made the race his own from the off.
Assistant trainer Frank Robinson was impressed with the effort and thanked the
VIP Thoroughbreds connections for the support. Robinson, in the absence of
Herman Brown who is in Dubai, has slowly nurtured this horse to his best and he
is now reaping the rewards of this patience.
Blank Cheque (Brown) landed running. Day Of The Piper
(Kotzen) and Avalanche Way (Lafferty) were disputing the lead. White Nights
(Charles Laird) and Modern Monet (Denysschen) were next best with five lengths
to make up. Blank Cheque was three lengths clear at the 400m mark and he was
going very well at that point. Blank Cheque was two lengths in front at the 200m
pole and he won very easily from start to finish as he showed he is another who
is above average. Modern Monet was second in front of Day Of The Piper. Blank
Cheque is by Rich Man's Gold out of a Kenmare mare, Kenmare Belle. Trainer:
