Annawood makes it 2 wins from 4 starts
ANNAWOOD MAKES IT TWO IN A ROW The beautifully bred daughter to Fort Wood, Annawood, is turning out to be a
lovely filly over ground as she captured her second win in succession at
Clairwood on Wednesday.
The filly was having only her fourth career start and she maintains the red
hot form that VIP horses have been in recently. Annawood started her career over
the sprint distances where she placed in her second outing but when stepped up
to a mile she found no opposition and again impressed over this distance of
1800m in this start. Her manner of victory, by coming from off the pace, means
that she will appreciate even further and is blossoming into a lovely stayer.
Deliver A Dream (Goss) was out well. Majestic Lites (Riley) and Global Girl
(Miller) were handy. Navajo Warcry (Tarry) and Rambo's Fantasy (Drier) were next
best with six lengths to make up. Deliver A Dream was three lengths in front
through the 900m zone at a strong pace. Navajo Warcry took over the lead at the
400m mark.
Jewel Of Jwaneng (Drier) picked it up at the 200m pole as the lead changed
again. Annawood (Brown) ran on well at the business end of affairs showing that
she can win more races. Jewel Of Jwaneng was second ahead of Navajo Warcry.
Annawood is by Fort Wood out of a Gallic League mare, Clair Anne.
