Lioness wins impressively
LIONESS ROARS TO EASY FIRST WIN
With the Brown stable firing on all cylinders, Lioness added to the recent
stable form with a win of her own.
The VIP Thoroughbreds managed and owned daughter of Captain Al out of the
Elliodor mare, Cry For The Lion scooted home with much in hand by a cool 3.75
lengths.
The filly was only having her 3rd start and her first over a more suitable
distance. Her other two runs were sprints where she finished 3rd in both.
Lioness (Brown) responded smartly. North Carolina (Lunn)
and Wing It Girl (Whitehead) were in touch. Rose Model (Miller) and Miss Ferny
(De Kock) were following them by six lengths early on.
Lioness had the lead past the 400m mark with a four length
lead and she was going extremely well up front. Lioness was three lengths in
front at the 200m pole and she kept going easily to record a very good victory
from start to finish under an intelligent ride. Wing it Girl was second ahead of
Widow's Peak (Taylor).
Lioness is by Captain Al out of an Elliodor mare, Cry For
The Lion.
